Troop 230 Fees and Dues

Troop Dues

Participation in Troop 230 involves two sets of annual dues: troop dues and Scouting America membership. Below you’ll find the details on both, along with payment options.

Each Scout pays about $125 in annual troop dues, which help cover the cost of troop operations, equipment, awards, and program activities.

Most camping trips throughout the year are included at very low to no additional cost, though some specialty camping trips may carry an extra fee. Scouts do pay around $20 to the “Grub Master” on campouts to cover the cost of food.

Scouting America Membership Dues

Scouting America membership is renewed annually and billed separately from troop dues. Current rates are $91 for Scouts and $71 for adult leaders. You’ll receive email reminders from Scouting America as your renewal date approaches — most members are on a December 31 expiration cycle, though renewal dates can vary.

You may pay Scouting America directly, or submit payment to the troop and we’ll take care of it on your behalf. If you have a Scout Account, funds can be applied toward your membership renewal at any time of year. Just reach out to our treasurer to make that request.

How to Pay

Payments to the troop can be made in any of the following ways:

• Check — made out to Troop 230
• Scout Account — complete and submit the Scout Account reimbursement form
• PayPal / Credit Card — pay online below (please add 4% to cover processing fees)
• Zelle — contact our treasurer, Chris Valorose/Bryan Jolley, for details
